How honesty relates to Othello….
- believes that everyone is honest and they are nothing but what they seem.
- Iago uses this to take advantage of Othello
FORESHADOWING is used when Othello is believing everything that Lago is saying to him because of his honest reputation which will later lead to his downfall.
Montano to Iago about Othello
“Perhaps he sees it not, or his good nature prizes the virtue that appears in Cassio and looks not on his evils”
Othello (II.iii.119-121)
“As I confess it is my nature’s plague to spy into abuses, and oft my jealousy shapes faults that are not”
Iago to OthelloOthello (III.iii.157-158)
This is a photo of when Lago is telling his lies to Othello, who is believing every word he says. Foreshadowing his downfall.
